The BOATSPRAY 100 is a portable diesel powered dispersant pump unit which is designed for operation from Tugs, Offshore Support Vessels, Workboats and other specialised vessels using a variety of application equipment including Spray Arms, AFEDO™ Nozzles and Hand Lances.
The system is designed for the application of either concentrated (neat) or diluted dispersant and is available with an extensive range of options as described below.
Enquire NowDispersant can be applied in concentrated form ie straight from the drum or diluted in sea water. This option uses an Ayles Fernie designed proportioning eductor to mix dispersant at up to 30% concentration in sea water.
If the Dilute Option is selected, an FRI is recommended to indicate the flow of dispersant and to setup the required application rate.
In order to set the appropriate flow rate to the application devices ie spray arms, AFEDO™ nozzles or hand lances, it is recommended that an Outlet FRI is fitted to indicate the outlet flow.
This removable wheel kit allows the pump unit to be moved about easily by one person and once in position, the wheels can be removed for securing the pump unit on deck if required.
The diesel engine can be fitted with a spark arrester to prevent the production of sparks from the engine exhaust.
We strongly recommend the pump unit cover to protect the unit from weather and deterioration in the highly corrosive marine environment.
The pump unit can be supplied with a load tested lifting sling
The BS100 pump unit can be operated with 6m or 8m Spray Arms
If Spray Arms are used with the BS100 pump unit, it is likely that Nozzle Downpipes will be required to position the nozzles at the correct height above the water surface.
The Spray Arm “swath width” can be extended by the use of WingJet Nozzles which are fitted at the outboard nozzle position.
The AFEDO™ Nozzle is a specially designed nozzle which creates an even drop-out spray pattern and provides an effective alternative to spray arms. See the Application Systems and Equipment page on this website for a full description of the AFEDO™ Nozzle.
When dispersing small patches of oil or cleaning structures coated in oil, Hand Lances provide a useful tool for controlled use of dispersant in these circumstances. The Hand Lances are supplied with hoses and fittings for fitting directly to the BS100 Pump Unit.
Ayles Fernie will be pleased to recommend a suitable dispersant.
A comprehensive range of spares is available for the pump unit, hand lances, spray arms and the AFEDO™ Nozzle.
A pump overhaul kit can be supplied which includes all necessary components for repairing a damaged or worn pump.
When the BS100 system is supplied with AFEDO™ Nozzles, they can be conveniently stored in aluminium storage containers. These containers provide secure storage for all system components which protects the system from deterioration, damage and theft. These containers are very popular with oil companies and oil spill responders who need to move the systems quickly and securely from location to location and from ship to ship.
We recommend that system operators (particularly when using AFEDO™ nozzles) wear the appropriate protective clothing. This option includes; coveralls, goggles, gloves and respirator.
The storage of dispersant and the supply of the dispersant to the pump unit is crucial for the effective operation of the system. Ayles Fernie can supply these tanks and manifolds for connecting tanks together.
